Amazed by Bravery
This is a short post but it’s one that I need to write. It’s about what has been the most amazing thing about this project. I cannot believe the willingness of so many people to stand up and share their stories. I was worried that there wouldn’t be enough people willing to talk about their experiences to support an ongoing podcast. That concern has been proved wrong. With less than three live episodes, the show has already scheduled interested parties through mid June with many other participants eagerly awaiting a chance in the weeks beyond. If that doesn’t people out there who suffer like I do that you’re not alone, I don’t know what will.
For those of you who aren’t comfortable talking, please don’t feel bad about yourselves. It is a very difficult choice to make and everyone has to make it for themselves. Just because I’m in a situation where I have the ability to do so doesn’t necessarily mean that you are too. Take your time. You’re the only one that can make the decision.
If you’ve missed one of our first three episodes, visit our website, iTunes or Google Play to hear discussions about living with Bi-Polar disorder, depression, alcoholism or anxiety and a few ideas for managing each of them. Also, be on the lookout for episode four on Monday where we’ll talk more about anxiety, caring for your mental health and how, when things are hard, sometimes even the happiest place on earth can’t change your mood. Can’t wait to share it with you all then.
